A Blank Canvas

I am extremely excited because this Saturday I am going antique shopping for benches and other stuff for our kitchen. The kitchen is a BIG white blah right now. We are going to wait till next year to do the counter tops but we may go a head and lay down vinyl. Vinyl you say??? Well to lay tile like we wanted to do would mean we had to rip out everything including the cabinets... you see we do not have enough "kick" on the floor under the cabinets for the tile. So vinyl it is until we are ready for a huge overhaul!

Back to my ideas for the kitchen... it needs color desperately!

My walls are not red but they are more of a khaki color. We have a huge wall that is a blank canvas. We could put two benches just like this! I love the pillows and it would add more seating in the kitchen!

See ... extra seating! We are very lucky because my best friend needed a home for her huge farm house table so Betsy and I were happy to help her out. (Obviously this is not my kitchen. But I love the bench seating around the table)

I have been wanting new dishes for quite a while but just couldn't decide what I wanted... I love the idea of mixing old china with every day china. Plates are going on the list for our antique excursion!

I will post pictures if we find anything. So excited!!!

Guest Room 1 and My "Office"

We got the bedding this weekend for the guest room... and I am very happy with it. We have to hang all the wonderful prints that I will be getting when Pat makes her way back up here!

I also got my office some what organized too! I love it so much!

 After! Yes, we need a much bigger rug... hahahaha! Some of the cabinets are not closing like they should be but that will be fixed on Monday!

Kitchen After (the kitchen is extremely bright but my iPhone didn't do such a great job reflecting that!) We obviously need a new light fixture for over the table. And our plan for next year is new counter tops. We are also getting a nice big farm house table.

I stil need to take pictures of the laundry room, dining room, guest rooms, Betsy's office and my office! That is my plan for the weekend. I hope you enjoy the pictures!!!!

We may be getting a tankless water heater!!!!!!!!! I will take pictures of that too!!!!

The New House

We are in the new house and we are loving it. I am in the process of taking the "after" pictures and will post them and the "before" pictures this week. I did not realize how big the house is until we started moving stuff in on Friday. We don't even have enough pictures for the walls and that is saying A LOT!

The animals are loving it too. However, our Scooter is some what in shock and hasn't left the mud room since Friday! Sunday was an adventure when Sammy and Roady some how lodge themselves under the shed. We thought we might have to cut through the floor to fish them out until they walked out by themselves!!! So thankfully I still have my shed!

More Progress

We spent this rainy day shopping for the house and we have FINALLY decided on the tile and counter tops for the kitchen! The tile we will be using are the four tile under the sample counter tops. We choose to get the 18" tile and the color is Olympus Brown. The counter tops is the darker sample on top! I of course can't remember what the color is called for the counter top. The cabinets will be white and the walls will be a khaki color... Portico from Sherwin Williams. We are so excited!!!

I'm not too sure about this...

I have to first say that I am one of those people who LOVE to read other peoples blogs!!! I mean y'all, I would almost categorize it as "blog stalking". And while I said to myself that I would NEVER write one I have suddenly changed my mind! This is probably not a shocker to a lot of y'all!

I thought this would be a better time than any to actually start one.  As you all know we have recently purchased our very first home. I wouldn't say that our house is a "fixer upper" but I would say it needs a little TLC. So this is for the family and friends who want to take this long journey with us. Wish us luck!!!!

** The pictures I have of our house still have the previous owners belongings everywhere so I plan on taking more pictures before we start any of the work. So check back soon!!
